Scenes I Imagine is about the relationships between female characters in productions that were known as “women films” in Turkish cinema in the 1980s. Could the deep bonds between women also point to relationships of a sexual and emotional nature that are hidden beneath the surface?


The director Metin Akdemir investigates this “queer potential”. What he brings to the documentary is a reenactment of those scenes in his fantasy that did not appear in the original films. Instead of reaching a final conclusion, Akdemir wants to raise new questions through his ideas.
