Baştan başa / Heads and Tails

Heads and Tails documents the curious hair trade between Turkey and Israel. Two Turkish-Israeli women, Coya and Sima, get the strands of hair from male hair dealers in Turkey and sell them to wig makers in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak. Orthodox Jewish women cover their heads with wigs made of hair that once belonged to women from Anatolia. On this trip, the hair becomes a commodity, a food and beauty product that becomes kosher and does not give much to the owner who carefully grows the hair.
